Sunset Birding at the Meadows - August 30th, 2013

Good shorebirding on a pleasant evening. Waders included Great and Snowy Egret, Little Blue Heron, Green Heron, and Glossy Ibis. There were many Semipalmated and Least Sandpipers, adults and juveniles as well as Semipalmated Plover, both Yellowlegs, 1 Short-billed Dowitcher, and 1 White-rumped Sandpiper. The beach had American Oystercatchers, ~300 Black Skimmers, Royal and 1 Caspian Terns, and 3 Lesser Black-backed Gulls. Leaders: Karl Lukens, Chuck Slugg, Warren Cairo, Claudia Burns, and Jesse Amesbury.
