Birding Cape May Point - Wednesday, September 4th, 2013

More ducks are appearing with Blue-winged Teal and Northern Shovelers present. Waders are showing, i.e., Great and Snowy Egrets, Great and Little Blue Herons, Black-crowned Night-Heron, and Glossy Ibis. Raptors are also increasing in numbers with Bald Eagle, Merlin, American Kestrel, Northern Harrier, and Sharp-shinned, Cooper's, and Red-tailed Hawks all being seen. Shorebirds included Semipalmated Plover and Sandpiper, Short-billed Dowitcher, Killdeer, Spotted Sandpiper, and both Yellowlegs. Royal and Caspian Terns were present. American Redstarts and Bobolinks were also seen. Leaders: Mike Crewe, Karl Lukens, and Chris Marks.
