Birding the Meadows with Pete Dunne - Monday, September 9th, 2013

A coolish walk at the start with a little of this and that. Nice looks at several Prairie Warblers and a probable fly by Northern Waterthrush. Lots of gulls and terns on the beach including at least 2 Lesser Black-backed Gulls. Waders included Great and Snowy Egrets and Glossy Ibis. Shorebird numbers have decreased but still some Semipalmated Plover and Sandpipers, Least and Spotted Sandpipers, and both Yellowlegs. Two Bald Eagles and a Merlin were seen overhead. Leaders: Pete Dunne, Karl Lukens, Chuck Slugg, Warren Cairo, Shaun Bamford, Catherine Busch, Carrie Bell, Janet Crawford, Mike Hannisian, Emily Wilmoth, and Emily Martin.
