Birding the Meadows with Pete Dunne - Monday, September 16th, 2013

Duck numbers are up but still only Mallard, Gadwall, and both Teal, with about 15 of each Teal. Waders included Great Blue Heron, Great and Snowy Egrets, and Glossy Ibis. Passerines included Yellow Warbler, Common Yellowthroat, Cedar Waxwing, Red-winged Blackbird, and many overhead Bobolinks. We did have nice views of 3 Peregrine Falcons with one sitting one the beach for scope views. Shorebirds were mostly Semipalmated and Least Sandpipers, as well as Semipalmated Plover, Killdeer, and Pectoral Sandpiper. Usual suspects as far as gulls and terns with 1 Lesser Black-backed Gull. Leaders: Pete Dunne, Karl Lukens, Chuck Slugg, Warren Cairo, Catherine Busch, Janet Crawford, Deb Payson, and Shaun Bamford.
