Birding the Meadows with Pete Dunne - Monday, September 2nd, 2013

Cloudy and humid with SW breeze but still a few birds to be found. Waders were few and consisted of Great Egret, Green Heron, and Glossy Ibis. On the beach we had Laughing, Ring-billed, Great Black-backed, and two Lesser Black-backed Gulls, Royal and Caspian Terns, American Oystercatchers, and large numbers of Black Skimmers. Shorebirds were less but still numerous, mostly Semipalmated and Least Sandpipers with a few Pectoral, both Yellowlegs, Short-billed Dowitchers, and 1 White-rumped Sandpiper. Leaders: Pete Dunne, Karl Lukens, Chuck Slugg, Steve Weis, Warren Cairo, Shaun Bamford, Catherine Busch, Janet Crawford, Jesse Amesbury, Tom Baxter, and Mike Hannisian.
