Fall Migrants at the Rea Farm - Saturday, September 14th, 2013

Cool morning with Northerly winds and pockets of birds here and there. Two Yellow-billed Cuckoos were seen from the parking lot to start off. American Redstarts, Blue-gray Gnatcatchers, and Red-eyed Vireos were most numerous with several other single species seen. Raptors included four Bald Eagles, several Red-tailed Hawks, two Cooper's, five Broad-winged Hawks, three American Kestrels, and a Merlin. We also saw a female Scarlet Tanager and the highlight was an Olive-sided Flycatcher that unfortunately flew off before all could get on it. Leaders: Karl Lukens, Kathy & Roger Horn, Catherine Busch, Deb Payson, Carrie Bell, and Jesse Amesbury.
