Cox Hall Creek WMA - Sunday, September 30th, 2012

The tall grasses covering former greens at the Cox Hall Creek WMA are full of chipping Palm Warblers and Common Yellowthroats at this seaon. Indigo Buntings are numerous in the sunflower field on the east side. Our first-of-season Ruby-crowned Kinglets fed in a group with Northern Parulas, Magnolia and Nashville Warblers and Red-eyed Vireos. And Red-breasted Nuthatches have joined the resident White-breasted Nuthatches, with both calling in trees not far from the main parking lot. Leaders: Kathy & Roger Horn, Janet Crawford, Mary Jane & Chuck Slugg, Cindy & Shaun Bamford, and Joe Demko.
