Cox Hall Creek WMA - Sunday, October 21st, 2012

Following last night's north winds, a lot of birds came into CHC WMA. Sparrows were more numerous with Swamp, Song, White-throated, Field and Chipping seen. A single immature Red-headed Woodpeckler perched obligingly at the top of a dead snag long enough for good scope views. Pine Siskins, Purple Finches, both Red-breasted and White-breasted Nuthatches, Palm and Nashville Warblers, and Eastern Phoebes were seen, along with many 'Butterbutts" (Yellow-rumped Warblers). Leaders: Kathy Horn, Cindy Bamford, Janet Crawford, Mary Jane & Chuck Slugg.
