Higbee Beach Bird Walk - Friday, August 9th, 2013

The first Higbee walk of fall was relatively quiet with scattered pockets of birds that included early warbler migrants. On the beach, Sanderling recently arrived from their tundra breeding grounds continued their territorial battles, some spending more time fighting than feeding. Great-crested Flycatchers obligingly posed for scope views, and Indigo Buntings continue to sing on territory throughout Higbee. Leaders: Mike Crewe, Catherine Busch, Chris Marks, and Shaun Bamford.
