Birding the Meadows with Pete Dunne - Monday, July 29th, 2013

Nice weather and good birding this morning. Waders included Great and Snowy Egrets, Green and Little Blue Heron, and Glossy Ibis. On the beach we had Black Skimmers, American Oystercatchers, Sanderlings and, surprisingly, a Whimbrel feeding in the surf. Shorebirds on the mudflats were Least, Spotted, and Semipalmated Sandpipers, Semipalmated Plover, Killdeer, Willet, and Short-billed Dowitcher. Also numerous Terns including Forster's, Common, Least, and Royal. Leaders: Pete Dunne, Karl Lukens, Chuck Slugg, Janet Cawford, Catherine Busch, Shaun Bamford, and Jesse Amesbury.
