We timed our beach arrival perfectly to watch the 07:30AM ferry steaming out into Delaware Bay with a ribbon of Northern Gannets and Laughing Gulls trailing out behind. Parties of Bonaparte's Gulls were heading north up the bay and Double-crested Cormorants adorned the distant concrete ship. The fields remain quiet still, but Field Sparrows and White-eyed Vireos were singing and a single Palm Warbler gave promise of more to come. Leaders: Mike Crewe, Roger Horn, Karl Lukens, Warren Cairo, Patty Rourke, Steve Weis, and Chris Marks.
