Lots of birdsong on this morning's Cox Hall Creek WMA walk under brilliant blue skies. CHC WMA is a great place to hear the difference between the song of Chipping Sparrows and Pine Warblers. Eastern Bluebirds were scattered throughout the area, a Red-headed Woodpecker basked on a sunny snag, a lingering Hermit Thrush was ground-feeding with a group of American Robins and a pair of Hairy Woodpeckers were squabbling nearby. Leaders: Kathy and Roger Horn, Cindy and Shaun Bamford, Janet Crawford, Mary Jane and Chuck Slugg, Chris Marks, Steve Weis, and Mark and Lynne Breslow.
