Birding the Meadows with Pete Dunne - Monday, April 16, 2012

Some shore birds seemed to have moved in with a flock of Willets flying over the parking lot before we started. We also had several Greater Yellowlegs, 3 Least Sandpipers, and 1 Short-billed Dowitcher. Raptors included a Cooper's Hawk, American Kestrel, and a Bald Eagle stealing a fish from an Osprey. As usual, American Oystercatchers and Piping Plovers were on the beach. Leaders: Pete Dunne, Karl Lukens, Chuck & Mary Jane Slugg, Steve Weis, Warren Cairo, Chris Marks, Patty Rourke, and Bill Smythe.
