The overnight rain and impending storm had most birds hunkered down during this morning's Cox Hall Creek WMA walk. Still visible and calling were many Chipping Sparrows, Red-bellied Woodpeckers and Tufted Titmice that reside there. Field, Swamp, White-throated and Song Sparrows were vocalizing, and Blue-gray Gnatcatchers and Yellow-rumped Warblers were frequently seen and heard. Leaders: Kathy & Roger Horn, Janet Crawford, Cindy & Shaun Bamford, Mary Jane & Chuck Slugg
