Birds of Belleplain State Forest - Thursday, April 19th, 2012

Many birds heard, but most difficult to see. However, we had good looks at a Yellow-throated Warbler on the ground gathering nest material. Another good look at a singing Louisiana Waterthrush on a branch about 10 feet up. Hooded Warbler was close and singing loud, but only one person saw the bird. Prothonotary Warbler at the beaver dam was also heard only. Leaders:  Jim Armstrong, Bert Hixon, Karl Lukens, and Patty Rourke.
