Cold and windy but still good birding. Lots of ducks including Ring-necked, Green-winged Teal, Northern Shovelers, and Ruddy. They were all put up in the air several times when a Bald Eagle flew overhead. A flock of 11 Wilson's Snipe and another of 8 Glossy Ibis made for good viewing. The bird of the day was the Northern Gannet! There were an estimated, conservatively, 650 birds - many close to shore. Swallows were also present with Tree, Cliff, Northern Rough-winged, Barn, and Purple Martin seen. A fly-over American Bittern was an added treat. Leaders: Pete Dunne, Karl Lukens, Steve Weis, and Chris Marks.
