Birding Cape May Point - Wednesday, October 9th, 2013

We had a good variety of ducks on Bunker Pond including Gadwall, American Wigeon with one Eurasian Wigeon, Northern Pintail, Northern Shoveler, both Teal, as well as Black and Surf Scoter on the ocean. There were lots of gulls and terns in the rips, with at least two Parasitic Jaegers, also had three Lesser Black-backed Gulls on the beach. Many waders were present on the pond with Great Egret being the most predominant. Raptors included Sharp-shinned and Cooper's Hawks, Northern Harrier, American Kestrel, and Merlin. Lots of Yellow-rumped Warblers and a few Palms were seen. Leaders: Mike Crewe, Karl Lukens, Steve Weis, Warren Cairo, and Chris Marks.
