Spring Migrants at the Rea Farm - Saturday, May 24th, 2014

It was a good day for looking up. We had two Bald Eagles, three Red-tailed Hawks, both vultures, five Osprey, two Wood Ducks, egrets, and best of all, six Mississippi Kites. Other good birds were Great-crested Flycatchers, Eastern Kingbirds, Blue-gray Gnatcatchers, Common Yellowthroats, Yellow Warbler, and Yellow-breasted Chat. We also heard two Prothonotary Warblers, and a Northern Waterthrush. We had good looks at Indigo Bunting and Blue Grosbeak. Leaders: Karl Lukens, Kathy & Roger Horn, Warren Cairo, Carrie Bell, Hugh Simmons, and Rob & Lisa Fanning.
