Shorebirds at Heislerville with Mike Crewe - Wednesday, May 20th, 2014

Heislerville was still full of birds this week with Black Skimmers putting on a fine display and providing a nice backdrop to the shorebird show. Short-billed Dowitchers, Dunlins, Semipalmated Sandpipers and Semipalmated Plovers all gave great, close-up views and, after much searching, we managed to find three White-rumped Sandpipers. Three Marsh Wrens were in full song flight and a surprise find was a Western Willet - an unusual bird here at this time of year.

Leaders: Mike Crewe, Warren Cairo, and Mark & Lynne Breslow.
