Spring Migrants at the Rea Farm - Saturday, April 6th, 2013

A clear and chilly morning at "The Beanery." Some good birds at the start from the parking lot included Northern Flicker, Downy Woodpecker, both Vultures, a Coopers Hawk, and a perched Rusty Blackbird. Other interesting birds were 5 Great Egrets and 4 Black-crowned Night-Herons perched at the willow pond, a Wilson's Snipe, and a Greater Yellowlegs in the same scope view also at the pond. We also had 4 Northern Rough-winged, 5 Barn, and 1 Tree Swallow, and a couple of Eastern Phoebes. Leaders: Karl Lukens, Kathy & Roger Horn, Catherine Busch, and Steve Weis.
