Birding Cape May Point - Wednesday, April 17th, 2013

Ducks still around in small numbers including both Teal, 1 Ring-necked, 3 Buffleheads, Black and Surf Scoters. Both Loons were seen flying, as well as a huge Northern Gannet movement. Migrants included fly-over Great Egrets, Willets, and 1 Whimbrel. A close Little Blue Heron in the reeds provided good looks. On the beach was 1 Piping Plover and 4 American Oystercatchers. Passerines included Eastern Bluebird, a heard Yellow Warbler, several Pine Warblers, and numerous Common Yellowthroats. Leaders: Mike Crewe, Karl Lukens, Steve Weis, Warren Cairo, Chris Marks, and Lisa Ryan.
