Birding the Meadows with Pete Dunne - Monday, April 1st, 2013

Numbers are down but still a good variety of ducks including Black Duck, both Teals, Northern Shoveler, Lesser Scaup, Bufflehead, and Ruddy. Off shore were numerous Scoters and 1 Long-tailed Duck. Migration is underway with ~60 Great Blue Herons in various groups flying overhead. The beach had 1 Piping Plover that looked like it was at "home" sitting back where they usually nest. Overhead were 2 Osprey, 2 Forster's Terns, a few Tree Swallows and 2 FOY Barn Swallows. Leaders: Karl Lukens, Chuck & Mary Jane Slugg, Steve Weis, Warren Cairo, and Catherine Busch.
