Good early season birding on a brisk spring evening. We were met with a cacophony of recently returned Laughing Gulls and had an exciting view of a Short-eared Owl being mobbed by gulls and before flying off toward the dredge spoils. A quick trip to Avalon yielded wonderful views of both Black-crowned and Yellow-crowned Night Herons. Leaders: Gail Dwyer and Chris Marks.
