Cox Hall Creek Bird Walk - Sunday, April 28th, 2013

An early highlight of this morning's Cox Hall Creek walk was the cooperative Red-headed Woodpecker that perched long enough for scope views for everyone. The late highlight was the gorgeous male Scarlet Tanager that was flitting from tree to tree in the parking lot at the end of the walk, as if showing off his finery for all to see. In between we had Palm, Prairie, Black-and-white, Yellow, Yellow-rumped (now looking fine!), Pine and Northern Parula Warblers plus Blue-headed and White-eyed Vireos and 3 close fly-over Green Herons. Leaders: Kathy & Roger Horn, Janet Crawford, Chuck Slugg, Cindy & Shaun Bamford, Joe Demko, and Steve Weis.
