Sunset Birding at the Meadows - Friday, July 19th, 2013

A nice evening for birding. Waders were Glossy Ibis, Great Egret, Black-crowned Night-Heron, and Green Heron. Shorebirds included Semipalmated Sandpiper and Plover, Killdeer, Spotted, Least, and Pectoral Sandpiper, both Yellowlegs, and Short-billed Dowitcher. On the beach we had Black Skimmer, American Oystercatcher, and a Lesser Black-backed Gull. Other birds of interest were 2 Orchard Orioles and an Eastern Kingbird feeding young in a nest. Leaders: Karl Lukens, Chuck Slugg, and Jesse Amesbury.
