Birding the Meadows with Pete Dunne - Monday, July 8th, 2013

Pete was back with us again and we had some good birding. From the parking lot area we had Indigo Bunting, Blue Grosbeak, Common Yellowthroat, and briefly a Yellow-breasted Chat. Waders were Great Egret, Glossy Ibis, Green Heron and Black-crowned Night-Heron. Some shorebirds were present including both Yellowlegs, Least and Spotted Sandpiper, and one Solitary Sandpiper. On the beach we had American Oystercatchers with one fledged chick, and a few Black Skimmers. A Willow Flycatcher in the shrubs was a nice find. Leaders: Pete Dunne, Karl Lukens, Chuck Slugg, Steve Weis, Catherine Busch, and Janet Crawford.
