Birds of Belleplain - Thursday, May 30th, 2013

Good weather and some singing birds, but hard to find. We did get good looks at Acadian Flycatcher, brief looks at Louisiana Waterthrush, OK looks at Prothonotary, and Blue-winged Warbler, and saw a hen Wild Turkey with at least 2 poults. We did start off the trip with a pair of Summer Tanagers at the parking lot. Raptors were 2 Broad-winged Hawks and an accipitor--probably a small Cooper's Hawk. Leaders: Bert Hixon, Karl Lukens, Shaun Bamford, and Bill Schul.
