Birding the Meadows - Monday, May 6th, 2013

A cold, windy, misty day but still a few interesting birds. Fly-over shorebirds included 11 Willets, 3 Red Knots, 2 Black-bellied Plover, and 2 Whimbrel. Two of the Willets hung around and landed a few times indicating possible breeders in the area. A perched, singing Blue Grosbeak made for a nice start of the walk at the parking lot. Offshore we had 1 Northern Gannet and both loons. Leaders: Karl Lukens, Chuck Slugg, Steve Weis, and Catherine Busch.
