Birding Cape May Point - Wednesday, May 22nd, 2013

A warm and muggy morning. Waders seen were Green Heron, Great Egret, Black-crowned Night-Heron, and Glossy Ibis. We had a nice comparison of the Piping Plover and Semipalmated Plover when the came together at one of the Plover Ponds. Also had Least and Semipalmated Sandpipers, and 3 Short-billed Dowitchers. On the beach, were 2 American Oystercatchers and 1 Piping Plover on nest. Other birds of interest were numerous Common Yellowthroats, and 2 Yellow-breasted Chats. Leaders: Mike Crewe, Karl Lukens, Steve Weis, Warren Cairo, and Chris Marks.
