Higbee Beach Bird Walk - Friday, May 3rd, 2013

A cold morning with persistant easterly winds made for some quiet birding. Offshore at the bay was good, with a couple of low flying Common Loons in breeding plumage, 5 Surf Scoters, some Northern Gannets, 3 fly-by American Oystercatchers, and a group of Purple Sandpipers on the close, moss covered remains of a jetty. Also there were 2 flying Parasitic Jaegers. Otherwise Prairie Warbler and White-eyed Vireos were the most common birds. Leaders: Mike Crewe, Karl Lukens, Chuck Slugg, Catherine Busch, Chris Marks, Lisa Ryan, and Shaun Bamford.
