Orioles put on the early show and warblers the late show on this morning's walk. Migrating Baltimore Orioles arrive in various shades of orange at this time of year, all quite different from the yellow of the locally breeding Orchard Orioles. It was mostly the Baltimores that glowed intensely along the treetops in the morning light. When we rounded the corner into the wet woods towards the end of the walk, a mixed warbler flock was busily feeding. Brief looks at the Northern Waterthrush were followed by more satisfying looks at the Black-and-white Warblers, American Redstarts and Yellow Warblers. Leaders: Kathy Horn, Karl Lukens, Deb Payson, and Carrie Bell.
