Cox Hall Creek WMA - Sunday, September 6th, 2015

The first bird of the walk was a good one - a dark merlin perched and preening, then flying off to show off his speed. A few warbler species, a perched and singing Blue Grosbeak, visible White-eyed Vireos and Cedar Waxwings - it was a beautiful morning at this old golf course. The topper though was when an approaching bicyclist flushed the Bobwhite covy, giving us brief views of these plump little birds before they disappeared into the grasses again. Leaders: Kathy & Roger Horn, Janet Crawford, and Deb Payson.
