Cox Hall Creek WMA - Sunday, September 16th, 2012

It was hard to proceed far down the path at CHC this morning because there were so many birds on all sides. American Kestrels, Merlin, Sharp-shinned and Cooper's Hawks all vied for snag perches while Blue Jays screeched for them to leave. Mixed flocks moved through containing American Redstarts, Northern Parula; Black-and-white, Chestnut-sided, and Yellow-rumped Warblers; Common Yellowthroat, Philadelphia and Red-eyed Vireos, Blue-Gray Gnatcatcher, Yellow-billed Cuckoo, Blue Grosbeaks, Indigo Bunting and Eastern Bluebirds. Leaders: Kathy & Roger Horn, Janet Crawford, Mary Jane & Chuck Slugg, Cindy & Shaun Bamford, Dave Lord, Steve Weiss, and Joe Demko.
