Birding Cape May Point - Wednesday, May 30th, 2012

This morning's state park walk started under heavy - but dry - skies and, as it turned out, our very first segment proved the most exciting! Looking out over the beach revealed Bottlenose Dolphins, a passing Brown Pelican, and a very excited pair of Caspian Terns. The pools further on had a nice selection of shorebirds, including five Short-billed Dowitchers and a reasonably obliging White-rumped Sandpiper. A soggy shower cut the end of the walk short, but not before we had seen a pretty good range of birds.
