Birding the Meadows with Pete Dunne - Monday, April 21st, 2014

Still cold for an April morning, but we had a few different ducks including two each Blue-winged and Green-winged Teal, and Northern Shoveler. Offshore, we had numerous Northern Gannets, Red-throated Loons, and scoters. On the beach there were at least three pair of American Oystercatchers. Common Yellowthroats were singing in several areas and one or two Marsh Wrens sang loudly and close by the trail. Overhead were Tree, Barn, Northern Rough-winged Swallows, and Purple Martins as well as two Boat-tailed Grackles. Leaders: Pete Dunne, Karl Lukens, Chuck Slugg, Steve Weis, Janet Crawford, Mark & Lynn Breslow.
