Birding Cape May Point - Wednesday, June 18th, 2014

A summer-like day with good waders on the pond including Great Blue Heron, Great Egrets, and Snowy Egret. On the beach we had American Oystercatchers, Black Skimmers, and what appeared to be a Piping Plover on nest. Cedar Waxwings were seen several times. The bird of the day was the breeding plumage Black Tern that flew around the pond and also perched on the pier railing. Leaders: Warren Cairo, Karl Lukens, Steve Weis, Chris Marks, Mary Watkins, and Michael McCabe.
