Birding Cape May Point - Wednesday, June 11th, 2014

A misty, cloudy morning ending with rain did not prevent us from seeing some interesting birds. Off shore we had a close, immature Northern Gannet and a Black Scoter both lingering beyond their usual time. A nice sighting was two Piping Plovers at the first Plover Pond as well as a pair of Killdeer with one chick. On the beach we had at least two Lesser Black-backed Gulls, Black Skimmers, and Least and Common Terns. Other good birds were scope views of Blue Grosbeak, Orchard Oriole, and Eastern Kingbird. Leaders: Mike Crewe, Karl Lukens, Chris Marks, and Warren Cairo.
