Sunset Birding at the Meadows - Friday, June 15th, 2012

A cool and dry evening at the Meadows. Early in the walk we had an adult Bald Eagle fly over that was briefly harassed by an Osprey. Several Willets flying about and wading in the ponds. The American Oystercatcher family, three ~4 week old chicks, were on the beach east of the meadows. Least Terns were numerous but no chicks as yet. An odd duck was the drake Northern Shoveler which is not supposed to be here this time of year. Leaders: Karl Lukens, Chuck Slugg, and Warren Cairo.
