Ominous skies sent the group to the Sunset Beach Grille Pavilion for a bit of seawatching. A Brown Pelican took off from quite close, and entertained the group as it preened.

The Meadows proved productive once the clouds marched by, and a number of interesting shorebirds showed. We had a Sanderling in breeding plumes on the beach, and a Greater Yellowlegs also in his breeding finery in the Meadows. A pair of Black Scoters floated just off the shore. Leaders: Pete Dunne, Karl Lukens, Steve Weiss, Janet Crawford, Catherine Busch, and Warren Cairo.
