Birding Cape May Point - Wednesday, September 10th, 2014

A good morning for birding along the dunes and ponds. Waders provided good looks at Great Blue and Little Blue Herons, Green Heron, Great and Snowy Egrets, and Glossy Ibis. Odd ducks were Northern Pintail, and Blue-winged Teal. Some raptors were about including two Northern Harriers, five Osprey, a Cooper's Hawk, and at least 21 American Kestrels. Among the few shorebirds were several Solitary Sandpipers, and two Western Willets. Good looks at numerous gulls and terns and a Black Tern put in an appearance over Bunker Pond as did a Belted Kingfisher. A few Palm Warblers gave us good looks. Leaders: Mike Crewe, Megan Crewe, Karl Lukens, Chris Marks, Mike Hannisian, and Mary Watkins.
