Cape May Point - Wednesday, September 01, 2010

A great walk this morning with Bobolinks simply pouring overhead and probably well underestimated in number. One or two warblers lurked in the Bayberry bushes along the back of the dune and a nice little flock of canopy-feeders entertained us in some tall Sassafras trees. Six American Kestrels hunted dragonflies over Lighthouse Pond and three Buff-breasted Sandpipers were on the beach. Monarchs were heading south in good numbers.
