A beautiful, spring afternoon with a slight breeze. Bunker Pond still sports a drake American Wigeon, several Mute Swans nesting on top of muskrat huts, both Great and Snowy Egrets, and several Savannah Sparrows. There was a good mix of swallows including Northern Rough-winged, Barn, Tree, and Purple Martins. Osprey were overhead and one caught a fish and shook the water off like a dog. Common Yellowthroat Warblers were calling along the tree line. The wooded area was quiet but we did see both House and Carolina Wrens and had good looks at Blue-gray Gnatcatchers. Leaders: Chuck Slugg, Catherine Busch, and Deb Payson.
