Birding the Meadows with Pete Dunne - Monday, July 2nd, 2012

Some movement of shorebirds including both Yellowlegs and Least Sandpiper. Waders included both Egrets, Green Heron, and 2 Black-crowned Night-Herons. Still 2 Piping Plover on the beach as well as American Oystercatchers and Black Skimmers. Most interesting was a close Great Shearwater working just off the beach and providing great views of an otherwise pelagic bird. Leaders: Pete Dunne, Karl Lukens, Chuck Slugg, Steve Weis, Catherine Busch, Carrie Bell, Dave Lord, and Janet Crawford.
