Location: Villas WMA
Observation date: 10/10/10
Notes: Passerines were watching out for their lives at this morning's Villas WMA walk as the good hawk flight of the weekend continued. Rusty blackbirds are back, amidst large flocks of grackles and red-winged blackbirds. And there was no getting away from the constant 'ank, ank' of red-breasted nuthatches in the pine canopies. Yellow-breasted sapsuckers were heard more frequently than seen but the one eating a persimmon put on a good show!(Sunny, low-60's)
