Cox Hall Creek WMA - Sunday, April 24th, 2016

The female Rose-breasted Grosbeak that showed up on this morning's walk was a first-of-season for many of us. Yellow-rumped Warblers are frequently singing now, as well as giving their flat chips. Other warblers included Black-and-white, Prairie, Palm and Pine. A Red-headed Woodpecker, presumably the one that overwintered here, perched briefly before flying off, displaying its striking white secondaries.  Leaders: Kathy Horn, Roger Horn, Shaun Bamford, Cindy Bamford, and Kyle Chelius.
