The first Saturday Photo Walk of the season was greeted with some of the nicest weather of the year, while the birds also cooperated. We began by shooting the Purple Martins including a banded/color marked individual perched in a tree. While doing this, a Chimney Swift came into range (barely). We then walked the beach and were privileged to find a family of American Oystercatchers and a family of Piping Plovers. Finally, an adult Fish Crow landed on a post right in front of us. It was a good start to a season that I suspect will only get better.
Purple Martins put on a good show for the cameras on this Saturday's photo walk. And when you're at Cape May, you just have to got one shot of the lighthouse at least!
