CHC WMA is a very
reliable place right now to see and hear Red-breasted Nuthatches; their toy
horn-like 'ank, ank, ank' can be heard throughout as they feed in the pines and
sweet gum trees. This is also an area with excellent sparrow habitat and we saw
7 species today including a young White-crowned Sparrow.
