Birding Cape May Point - Wednesday, July 23rd, 2014

Some of us got a brief look at a fly-by Brown Pelican from the parking lot as the walk started. An interesting sight was a Great Blue Heron trying to eat an eel and having a little trouble doing it. We had good looks at Terns - Forster's, Common, Least, and a Royal - on the beach and at Bunker pond. We also had good looks at American Oystercatchers. Shorebirds included Least and Spotted Sandpiper, as well as Lesser Yellowlegs. A few Yellow Warblers and Common Yellowthroats were about. Leaders: Mike Crewe, Megan Crewe, Karl Lukens, Chris Marks, and Steve Weis.
