Cox Hall Creek (Villas) WMA - Sunday, September 4th 2011

The parking lot was deceptively quiet at the start of this morning's Cox Hall Creek WMA walk. But 10 minutes down the trail, a flock of birds kept the group busy for almost an hour, identifying the birds in a large mixed flock. An Olive-sided Flycatcher sat atop a snag long enough for repeated scope views, as did a male Blue Grosbeak still in full breeding plumage. Warblers included Yellow-throated, Pine, Tenessee, Yellow and Common Yellowthroat.
