Bald Eagle Cruise on the Maurice River 3-26-11

"The inaugural run of the Cape May Bird Observatory's Bald Eagle Cruises on the Maurice River aboard the "Osprey" went off swimmingly. A total of four Bald Eagle nests now call the Maurice River home, and we spotted eight Bald Eagles in total, all adults. Ospreys made a great showing as well with 14 finding their way back to the river for another season. Other highlights include a beautiful Pied-billed Grebe that put in an appearance as soon as we left the dock, and a Laughing Gull that was keeping company with a large group of Ring-billed Gulls."
